The Lounge at Manchester House is now available to hire for private gatherings, as well as business meetings not to mention still being the perfect place to visit for an aperitif before dinner downstairs in the Restaurant at Manchester House, or just as a place in which to relax with friends afterwards until the early hours. There is also a lunch menu available between 12 pm and 6 pm, Tuesday – Saturday. Finally, there is afternoon tea, a champagne tea or a simple cream tea between 2pm and 6pm.

Cheshire based Living Ventures have revealed their end of your accounts, and have revealed a tripling of their profits from the previous 12 months. Despite an aggressive and expensive expansion program during 2013, the group turned over a profit of £1.55 million. Living Ventures has many venues around Manchester City Centre including Cocktail bars The Alchemist and The Alchemist on New York Street, Steak Houses Grill on The Alley and Grill On New York Street, Pan Asian offerings in the form of Australasia and Australasia Bar and Garden along with their newest addition to Spinningfields Manchester House.

Pre mixed cocktails have taken a turn for the better, following a recent surge in quality. Following a recent completion, judged by drinks industry experts, many entries were described as being 'bar quality'. Special note went to The Handmade Cocktail Co, whose entries fared particularly well. This year saw a total of 25 medals awarded with seven gold’s. Gold medals went to the following, Finest Call for their Bloody Mary Mixer, Funkin for their Funkin Brazillian, Handmade Cocktail for their Gin Martin 2013, Manhattan Cocktail, Negroni Cocktail and Old Fashioned Cocktail and Pontoon for their Tommy’s.

Aperol , the popular Italain Liqueur owned by Gruppo Camari who’s signature drink Aperol Spritz has already reached cult status around Europe is hoping a deal with Manchester United will increase its exposure around the World. By becoming Manchester United’s official global spirits partner until the end of the 2016/2017 season Aperol will be prominently advertised around Old Trafford.

Manchester live music icon Day and Night has received complaints from a local resident regarding the noise levels emanating from the venue. A Manchester favourite for decades, Day and Night has recently found being located closer to residential premises, due to the relatively recent rise in the popularity of the Northern Quarter. Hydes; the Salford based brewer, is looking to open a Gastro Pub with rooms in the northern quarter. This new venture if approved by Manchester Council will be situated in units on the corner of Turner and Red Lion Street. ~ 14 Jan 2014
