A Manchester Bar with vibe; The Refuge Public Bar is a glam-meets-industrial destination bar that brings all tribes to the core of Kimpton Clocktower Hotel: local workers, city residents, visitors, business travellers, and everyone in between..

With no airs or graces, the Public Bar is the beating heart of The Refuge. Coffee and co-working in the morning, board games after lunch, and cocktails and craft ales into the early hours.

The resident DJs curate the experience Thursday through to Saturday with an eclectic mix of jazz, swing, funk, soul and house. Just pop in, grab a drink from the bar and enjoy your visit!


The Refuge is Perfectly located for the Palace Theatre, as well as the Opera House, Bridgewater Hall and O2 Apollo with The Royal Exchange Theatre, AO Arena, Co-Op Live and Aviva Studios all also easily accessible.

Jameson Irish Whiskey Masterclass
& Sunday Roast £43.15


This Father’s Day, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel has partnered with Jameson Irish Whiskey to host an exclusive afternoon of guided tastings, premium gifts and award-winning Sunday roasts, perfect for celebrating those special father figures.

Designed as an intimate and immersive experience, each session is limited to just eight guests and will be led by Jameson’s experts. Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary Jameson, Ginger & Lime on arrival before embarking on a guided tasting featuring Jameson Original, Jameson Black Barrel, Green Spot and Redbreast 12.

The tasting experience lasts approximately 45 minutes, offering insight into the Jameson brand and flavour profiles of each drink. Guests will also receive a limited-edition Jameson-branded Old Fashioned glass to take home.

Following the tasting, guests will be invited into the dining room to enjoy the hotel’s acclaimed Sunday roast, with the full experience included in the ticket price, making it a complete and memorable way to celebrate Father’s Day. If any extra family members don’t want to take part in the tasting session itself, they encouraged to join for the Sunday roast by adding extra seats onto their booking with the Refuge team.

Tickets are priced at £43.15 and can be booked in advance.

Manchester’s Late-Night Underground World Cup Hub Manchester’s ‘late-night underground pub’ is opening its doors at Refuge for England’s World Cup run. They have teamed up with their friends and manchester Union Brewery to bring the action. Where the lights stay on, the pints keep pouring, and the matchday atmosphere doesn’t end at the full-time whistle.

Escape the chaotic crowds and claim your guaranteed spot to watch the game in their dedicated fan sanctuary. You can also pair the tension on the big screen with the ultimate British matchday fuel as they will also be serving proper, hearty pie and chips throughout the night, too!

Entry is completely free, but space is strictly limited.

Be fast: the first 50 fans to sign up for tickets will score a free pint of manchester Union on arrival to kick off the match.
