The Wharf Restaurant Manchester
The Wharf Restaurant
Although you'd be forgiven for thinking it dates back to the 1820s, the time of the historic warehouses around it, The Wharf is actually a beautiful modern purpose-built pub which originally opened in 1998 and traded until 2005 as 'Jackson's Wharf', before Brunning & Price spectacularly re-opened it in July 2012.

Although it is a large building, there are innumerable nooks and crannies so you can find cosy, intimate rooms and alcoves, or more buzzy, dynamic areas if you prefer.

The Wharf has the feel of a classic country pub, with the bar right at the heart of the operation with up to 9 cask ales on tap, a decent wine list of some 50 bins and a back shelf crammed with around 50 malt whiskies

What you won’t find is television, loud music, gaming machines or pool tables.

Upstairs at The Wharf you will find a quiet galleried restaurant with more hidden alcoves, and an outside dining balcony with panoramic views over the canal basin.

The large dining terrace outside has stunning views out over the Castlefield canal basin, which the the warmer months plays host to an outside bar and BBQ area.

The menu has a spine of freshly prepared, classic British dishes, complemented by more exotic influences from other parts of the world - in other words, modern British cookery.

The Wharf Doors Are Open!

With the easing of restrictions, it's great that you can now head to the pub just like the olden days.

It’s still very important to the Wharf Team that they strike the right balance between loosening up the restrictions, whilst also being mindful of their customers’ and crews’ continued safety and well-being. With that in mind, they wanted to reassure you that they will, of course, continue with their high standards of cleaning in all they do. They will continue to sanitise tables between use and whilst there are no longer any restrictions, they are still mindful of the spacing of tables, to ensure you feel comfortable. They will continue to make sure the pubs are nicely ventilated and some of the crew and customers alike will choose to carry on wearing a face coverings.

And, just to let you know, they’ll be happily redeeming meal tickets, (collect 6 and receive a main course up to £12). Don’t worry if you have tickets with a November 2020 expiry on, they’ll be glad to extend these until November 2021, just dust them off and bring them along.
