"Should
certainly be on everybody's list of bars in Manchester
to visit"

Like
the restaurant upstairs, the bar in Chaophraya is very cheap.
Bottles of Chang beer are only £3, Singha £3.05
and pints of Erdinger, Stella and Staropramen only £3.20.
There's also happy hour offers too (on this site) although
cocktails are fairly limited with just Bloody Marys, Mai Thai,
Long Ireland Ice Tea, Margharita and 3 very nice homemade
fruity specials (all £5.75 or £7 for Champagne
cocktails). |
|
Chaophraya
offer fantastic table service in traditional dress, with free
Thai Crackers quickly being brought to the table. A very nice
touch. |
|
The
atmosphere at Chaophraya's bar is certainly laid back and
relaxed with chilled out Thai music adding to the vibe. The
clientelle is largely couples on dates or diners going for
a pre-meal bite to eat, however it can also get busy after
work with many office workers meeting here to start their
night. |
|
Chaophraya
may have the reputation of being one of, if not the, best
restaurants in Manchester, however the bar certainly also
baosts the wow factor too! Very impressive decor with plenty
of Thai ornaments and influences it's eyecatching and certainly
the place to impress a romantic date. Plush settees, large
booths and even traditional Thai sunken seating make it very
different to anywhere else in town. |
|
The
toilets in Chaophraya are possibly the only thing that lets
the place down. Whilst very clean, they're seriously in need
of an upgrade, especially compared to the toilets in their
new Liverpool restaurant which boast a huge fish tank and
beautiful fittings. |
|
Chaophraya
is often overlooked as a bar, many people presuming it's just
a restaurant. The excellent decor, relaxed and romantic atmosphere,
fantastic table service, great prices and laid back Thai vibe,
should certainly be on everybody's list of bars in Manchester
to visit. |
