Dog Bowl Manchester
The ‘Little Lebowski’ of the North West is finally uncovered.
Local Manchester lass, Erin McKevitt, proved herself to be the ‘little Lebowski’ of the North, striking her way to the top of the leaderboard in a bowling competition in the city centre this summer.
The young talent brought out her best bowling skills as she went head to head against children from all over Greater Manchester to compete in the bowling challenge.
The ‘Kids Wall Of Fame’ competition, which was open to under 14s, was launched by Manchester’s boutique bowling alley 'Dog Bowl' on 20 July. The challenge ran for six weeks, offering kids an exciting challenge to keep them busy during the summer holidays. Entry was totally free and every child who bowled was added to the leaderboard in the hope they would find themselves in the top spot by the end of the summer.
At the end of the six weeks, Erin emerged victorious scoring an impressive 141 points to secure her place at the top of the scoreboard. She was closely followed by Eva Jaiyeola who came in at second place scoring 127 points. As well as winning the glory of being Manchester’s best kid bowler, Erin also took home a trophy, won a free meal and can now enjoy a year’s worth of free bowling!
The lucky winner said, "I'm really over the moon. I love bowling and have told all my friends about the competition at school. It's fun but I also find it relaxing at the same time, so I'm definitely going to keep it up."
Erin’s proud father, Gavin McKevitt, said: "I'm absolutely going to keep taking Erin bowling. She's got a real natural talent for it and since winning it's all she's spoken about. In the daytime Dog Bowl has a really great family atmosphere and it's somewhere different to take the kids.”
Dog Bowl welcomes families onto its lanes all year round. Children under 12 can enjoy free bowling every Monday before 7pm, even during the school holidays. A special kids menu is available, complete with burgers, wings and ice cream. Young diners can enjoy 2 courses and a soft drink for £6.50 or 3 courses and a soft drink for £8. Every day except Monday kids bowl for just £4.
