Manchester’s popular venue, The Bierkeller Entertainment Complex, is well known in the city as the best place to watch the match on the huge screens while soaking up the lively atmosphere. Having been selected as one of only a handful of venues in the country to become a ‘Budweiser Hero Bar’, making it an official partner of the main World Cup sponsor, the Bierkeller is poised to serve up a warm welcome and a nerve-steadying Stein to the North West’s football lovers this summer.
Kicking off the World Cup celebrations in style, the Bierkeller will be bringing the party to Manchester when they screen their FIFA World Cup flash mob video around city centre starting from Piccadilly Gardens and ending at the ‘Ski Lodge’ at the Printworks from 1pm on Saturday 7th June. This is just the first of a series of special football-related activities and events that the Bierkeller team have planned for the duration of the World Cup, when they’ll be showing every match live on the biggest non cinema 3D screens in the country.
So what are you waiting for? Get yourself down to the ‘The Ski Lodge’ Ground floor level of The Bierkeller Entertainment Complex, for a taste of the sports-related fun that awaits you at Shooters within the Bierkeller this summer. Remember dress to impress, as prizes are on offer for the best football-related costume!
Turtle Bay; the Bristol based Caribbean bar/restaurant has come to Manchester following a lavish launch event yesterday evening. Located in the former Alibi unit on Oxford Street. Around £1 million has been invested into the venture, with authentic feeling Caribbean décor setting the scene beautifully. Local VIPs and celebrities including Shayne Ward and the cast of Corry were on hand to join the party. Live reggae bands provided the entertainment, whilst the crowd and staff all joined in with the party vibe until well the night.
Turtle Bay offers a cascade of lively food and drink from Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad, including beers, cocktails, jerk chicken, patties, and other spicy Caribbean treats. It’s a niche which has yet to be truly exploited in Manchester, and based on our spicy samples last night, a niche which will be well and truly filled before very long.
The management team explained to us how excited they are to get things started, meet new customers and make new friends, not to mention being incredibly enthusiastic about the food and drink offerings. Head Chef Colin Scott stated that the menu will be heavily authentic, with European twists along the way. Chicken wings, salt fish, patties, spicy prawns and succulent ribs all went down a treat with the crowd, who also enjoyed the genuine Caribbean bar offerings including staple such as Red Stripe beer, the lethally delicious Wray and Nephew over-proof rum, and one of our personal favourites; Koko Kanu premium coconut rum.
Based on the party atmosphere from last night's bash, it looks like Manchester has a new destination. Turtle Bay opens on Friday May 30th.
