The Frog and Bucket started life as a small city centre pub on Newton Street, Manchester in 1993, it played host to one of Peter Kay's first ever stand up gig at the "Little Frog" (as it's affectionately known). Comedy rapidly began to take over the entertainment programme of the boozer, and in May 1996 the Perkin family finally admitted that they'd outgrown the pub they loved so much.

The Frog and Bucket then moved to the then Yate's venue on the corner of Oldham Street and Great Ancoats and started to build the Frog and Bucket. Rough, ready and raw in the early days, the Frog still maintains some of that heritage which gives it it's legendary atmosphere, coupled with some of the best comedians from around the world.

The Frog and Bucket prides itself on developing some of the best comic talents on the circuit. With the regular amateur night being considered the most important part of the Frog calendar giving them a chance to nurture the stars of the future. Past Beat the Frog (The Frog and Buckets amateur night) have included Dave Gorman (Googlewhack Adventure), Peter Kay (Phoenix Nights), Caroline Aherne (The Royle Family), Smug Roberts (Phoenix Nights) and Johnny Vagas (Ideal).

Comedy events take place on Monday nights, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Sunday. On the Monday enjoy free entry for the Beat The Frog night of fresh talent. Big value Thursday see's a line up of 4 acts with a DJ till 1am. Friday and Saturday nights give you 3 acts and a late night disco. Leaving Sundays free for touring shows and other special events! The Frog and Bucket has something for everyone and is sure to make you giggle!
